You can charge them via usb while listening, but they aren't usb speakers. they also have no volume control of their own. they sound really great, even at max volume. Much louder than you would expect from such a small speaker. i am not a gamer, just use these to listen to my iphone wherever. I haven't used them enough to give a report on battery life, but it felt far less than the 13 hours, or whatever Razer claims. That said, they charge quickly. few minor gripes: i wish i had a second cable that didn't have the usb port (for charging), as it looks messy when its not connected. Also while the mini usb wires... This review is from: Razer Ferox Mobile Gaming Speakers (RZ05-00500100-R3) (Personal Computers) These speakers are amazing. They don't look like they would create enough sound like any 2.1 speaker system, but they do.I use a Sony VAIO CW computer and whenever I watch youtube videos, I turn up my sound to max and the youtube video sound to max. Whenever I hooked up these speakers, I had to turn down my volume to half and the youtube volume to around 1/3 of its bar. They are LOUD. Volume: 10/10. The aesthetics.. they look really nice. The material is really high quality, and whenever you pick them up, you can feel the slight heaviness of them. The top of the speakers open up and the razer logo is sketched on a brushed chrome aluminum. Appearance: 10/10. The light on the bottom of the speakers are also very nice. Although they aren't as bright as I thought, they are good indicators of when the battery is running low. However, a few minor things I must point out. The cord that connects the speakers is extremely short. My... This review is from: Razer Ferox Mobile Gaming Speakers (RZ05-00500100-R3) (Personal Computers) Speakers work well and the charge lasts for a few hours at a time.I use them mainly with my smartphone or mp3player when I'm in small rooms without stereos. Rarely get a chance to turn them up as loud as they go, but they seem to have a wide range of effective listening levels. Decent sound quality at low volume levels, great on medium. When I don't want to use the omnidirectional nature of the speakers, I simply leave them in their case with the lid open and it directs most of the sound in that direction. Only con would be the hissing noise the speakers give off when fully charged and still plugged in via usb. It reminds you to remove the usb cable from your PC, but it also prevents enjoyable listening from a constantly plugged-in set of speakers -- but they really aren't meant to be plugged in all the time so I'll forgive that. |
