5.0 out of 5 stars Why this is the beast of all 660ti cards......, August 19, 2012

This review is from: MSI N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC Graphics Cards N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC (Personal Computers)
Just received the cards after researching the differences between EVGA, ASUS and MSI. I'm coming from an old school EVGA 480 sli x58 setup so I was a little concerned that the jump wouldn't be that significant (as I had the 480s maxed to the point of instability). Thankfully I was wrong. After installing the cards and drivers from the Nvidia website (not the disc) I decided to try out a couple of games; Arkham City, Crysis 2, Skyrim, and for old times sake, Metro 2033.
Keep in mind I'm yet to overvolt them but I did ramp up the core clocks to 1180 in afterburner without even thinking twice. I've heard that people are getting into the 1320+ clock range depending on the bin lottery and low leakage (I'm sure that type of overvolt/clock would be unstable, but I'm still impressed) Given the limited memory bandwidth on the 660 ti I decided on the msi given it's memory quality and performance in multiple comparisons against other manufacturers cards. There are areas where other cards... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Silent Night, August 18, 2012

I upgraded from a EVGA GTX 560 Ti - 448 Cores (Fermi) Classified Edition. This card runs much cooler and much quieter than my previous card. Efficiency and temperature are main two reasons I chose to wait for the release of the 660ti with the TwinForza Cooler from MSI than make the leap to a stock 670 or 7950.

I play at night and my wife can't stand the noise of the 560ti's fan under load. This card makes virtually no noise at all and runs at a very low temperature.

I am now able to Apply Ultra Settings to World Of Warcraft, Mass Effects 3, Diablo 3 and Battlefield 3 where before I peaked at High settings without AAx8.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can I give this 10 stars?, August 18, 2012

How do we start?

Pros: Everything! Very quiet. Only takes 2 6pin connectors. This thing is a beast in BF3. I mostly play close quarters so my old 6850 was killing my fps. I have everything set to full max and it never dips under 60 fps EVER!

For the price this card is unmatched. Remember to ALWAYS download the latest drivers straight from Nvidia and never use the disc it comes with.
