The fully enclosed design and aluminum dishwasher-safe filters make cleaning easy. Includes damper/adapter. Ducted or non-ducted recirculation capability makes installation easy in most applications. 3-1/4 in. x 10 in. adapter/damper and 7 in. round adapter included, optional 7 in. round damper (BP 87) to prevent backdrafts sold seperately. For non-duct recirculation replaceable charcoal filters are available that simply clip on to the back of the grease filters sold seperately. .

Designed for electric or gas cooktops up to 22K BTU, the Allure operates at 1.5 sones on normal speed and 5 sones on high speed (110 CFM at normal, 220 CFM at high setting), making it as quiet as it is efficient. It's up to 50 percent quieter than similar models. For easy cleaning, the Allure has a fully enclosed design and standard large filters made of dishwasher-safe mesh.
Rocker Switches for Two Light and Speed Options
The Allure offers the convenience of a two light settings--focused, bright light for cooking and soft nighttime light--and a halogen lamp (bulbs not included). Two contoured rocker switch controls make for easy speed and light selection.
Versatile Design
HVI 2100 certified, the Allure provides reliable performance and versatility. It can be used for ducted or ductless operations and allows for four-way convertibility: 3-1/4-inch by 10-inch (horizontal or vertical), 7-inch round, or non-ducted discharges. The hood can be converted to accommodate any of these setups without repositioning the blower. Adjustable duct connectors make the range hood compatible with off-center ductwork.

Cons: low CFM on setting one of fan, $7 light bulbs The best thing about the Broan and most likely the reason you are looking at it is how quiet it is. At 1.5 Sones it is practically a whisper with the fan on. Let me tell you it's a blessing and worth the money for that fact alone. My wife (who does most the cooking, love you) would never turn on our old range hood. I would come into the house to find a haze of smoke and grease hanging in the air and her working in the kitchen. I would turn on our old hood, 5.5 sones and you could not yell at each other to have a conversation. What I needed was replacement that was quiet (so the wife would use it) gave some light and would fit in the standard opening that was under $150. With the money I saved I could buy cleaners to wash the grease off the walls in the kitchen. HA HA The Broan... I love it. The hood brings the light up a bit higher than traditional hoods. It has two fan settings and a low/high light settings, along with two lights. We used halogen flood lights and on the high setting it really lights up the entire range and surrounding counter space. Does not effectively draw from front elements/burners at the slow speed, the fan is mounted too close to the rear to be effective at this speed. Needs thoughtful re-design, in a realistic setting (like in a kitchen?). |
